Chef Skills Taster Class

This chef skills course is designed to improve your knife skills and how you present food. This course is currently available to groups of 6-8 but may run for individual bookings again in the future if enough people request this [so please let us know that you are interested]
On the last course we covered dicing, slicing, chopping, shredding, julienne and much, much more. There was also an opportunity to fillet a fish [and skin the fillets] individually as well as understand about sharpening knives using a stone.

We will cover a range of techniques commonly used in food preparation. Once you have the techniques, you will then be able to practise and build up speed. All the appropriate knives for learning are supplied for use on the course, or you may bring your own if you have them. If you would like advice on which knives to purchase then it is a good idea to come and try ours first to see which type is most appropriate for you.
We will prepare a series of quick recipes for our lunch as part of the day courses and to sample at the end of evening classes - but the main focus is on improving your background skills in the kitchen.
Over a series of skills-based courses we will look at different cuts of meat, various ways of presenting vegetables and also garnishing.
