Indian Cookery Course - Cookery Days in Nottingham

Due to the huge popularity of our original one day Indian cookery courses and with many people now returning for more Indian courses, we now run 4 different menus for Indian cookery as well as an Indian Cookery Weekend.

These hands on cookery days focus mainly on dishes inspired by recipes from across India and feature Thali-style platters that vary according to course. All diets are catered for across the various different menus.

Curry Cooking Day - Nottingham!

INDIAN COOKERY 1
Popular dishes, some familiar but with the odd surprise thrown in. For those who like a bit of everything! Chicken, crisp onion bhaji, vegetables, fresh fish, chutney, relishes, naan bread, ice cream dessert. Suitable for Pescatarians [those who eat fish but not meat] and all round Indian food fans.

SOUTH INDIAN COOKERY
Focussing on southern Indian cuisine - for those who like the fresh flavours of coconut, seafood, vegetables and tropical mango! For the more adventurous cook who wants a change from the more obvious curries and commonly cooked recipes. No Meat/Poultry. Highly suitable for Vegetarians and Pescatarians.

NORTH INDIAN COOKERY
Focussing on north Indian cuisine and the west - for those who like the deep flavours of chillies, spices, sauces and meat/chicken! Think chicken, curry sauces, lamb kofta, meat samosa and more. For the Indian cook who likes meat/poultry, spicy food and things to be a little hotter!! Not for vegetarians/pescatarians.

Coming later in 2010 - FAST INDIAN COOKERY
Fast, fresh and light Indian cuisine - for those who love all things Indian and want to be able to use the recipes for fast every day cooking and for entertaining friends! The full range - meat, poultry, vegetables, seafood recipes, paneer and pudding. Less oil, healthier recipes but with all the flavour that you need! Suitable for Pescatarians [those who eat fish but not meat] as well as meat fans

Please contact Sarah if you have done one of our previous Indian menus and she will guide you to a date for one of the new menus. These courses are hands on not demonstration and are ideal for men's birthday or Christmas presents, for couples who want to improve their cookery skills together, and also for individuals who enjoy spicy food.

2010 Indian Cookery Special Weekend - if a 1 day course is not enough - why not spend a whole weekend immersed in Indian Cookery - covering spice blends, background knowledge and Indian cooking techniques and a whole host of different dishes with tips for menu planning, creating your own recipes and presentation of your dishes. See calendar for dates. NO BEGINNERS ON THIS COURSE PLEASE

Popular with everyone, this course is especially useful as a gift for men. It is not unusual for some dates to consist of 8 men [who have all been given this cookery course as a gift and have never met prior to the course] and us. Often wives get together and send husbands in groups as well. Some dates are more evenly balanced with men and women or with mainly couples - please ask if you specifically want a men-only or more mixed course.

Although we can cope with beginners on all our courses - it really helps if you tell us in advance so that we can guide you to the best choice of date. Please contact Sarah on 0115 9160861 if you do not have much experience in cooking Indian food already.

Many people who enjoy Indian cookery are often tempted by the chilli cookery course as well - the Cooking with Chillies course is available as a full day option too.

What our guests say about these courses.....
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Indian cookery course last Saturday, everything was excellent, can't fault anything!. We have guests round this coming Saturday so hopefully the prawn curry will be as good as before!! :) Thanks again and I'm sure I will be back again soon! Best wishes, Simon

Hi Sarah. Andrew thoroughly enjoyed the Indian cookery course, he was really pleased with everything that he made and thought everything tasted great. He said it was the best present I ever bought him. Thanks again. From Cath, who bought her husband an Indian Cookery Course for Christmas, then Cooking with Chillies the next year and then he came back again for a new Indian menu with his brother

Hi Sarah. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Indian Cookery day last week. I particularly enjoyed the structure of the day as it gave us the opportunity to see lots of dishes being prepared and cooked, the interaction with the other participants was also great. I've prepared a few at home....all of them successful - Naan Bread.....plain and a fab peshwari naan (didn't overflour them this time...honest!), Mango Chutney, Fish Curry, a version of Creamy Vegetable Curry. The day gave me the impetus to start experimenting and hopefully create a few dishes of my own (on the theme naturally). Thanks again & kind regards. Kevin

Thanks Sarah. I enjoyed the day.....Will be trying out the pakora, bhaji starters and chutneys. Will also try the fish curry as I thought that was the nicest dish of the day and it makes a nice change to have fish, indian style. Very informative about the chilli's etc. as well...... John

The final menu for each course is subject to change [due to produce availability] and I also amend the menu to accommodate allergies/major dislikes where possible.
