Indian Cookery Course - Cookery Days in Nottingham

Indian Cookery is available as a one day cooking course and occasionally as an Evening Curry Class. From Christmas 2008 we will be running 2 different menus for this course - so those of you who came on the original course can come back and cook a set of new recipes without fear of repetition! The courses are now called Indian Cookery and Indian Cookery 2

Recipes for the original full day indian cookery course focus on savouries [although dessert is included in the meal - it is normally an Indian-inspired ice cream prepared in advance].

The original Indian Cookery course normally features the following: Onion Bhajis, Vegetable Pakoras, and Poppadoms with Fresh Coriander Chutney, Yoghurt & Cucumber Raita and Mango Chutney.

For main course curries we usually cook a range of vegetarian and meat/poultry/fish curries - examples are: Lamb Kofta, Chicken Tikka Masala, a Creamy Vegetable Curry, Fish Curry with Tomato and Coconut Chutney, Sag Paneer. As if that isn't enough we usually make Naan breads to accompany the meal.

Indian Cookery 2 will feature a new range of recipes including new starter/finger food dishes, new curries and relevant relishes/accompaniments. The menu is being written now so please enquire if you would like more details.

Many people who enjoy Indian cookery are often tempted by the chilli cookery course as well - the Cooking with Chillies course is available as a full day option too.

What our guests say about the full day course................
Hi Sarah. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Indian Cookery day last week. I particularly enjoyed the structure of the day as it gave us the opportunity to see lots of dishes being prepared and cooked, the interaction with the other participants was also great. I've prepared a few at home....all of them successful - Naan Bread.....plain and a fab peshwari naan (didn't overflour them this time...honest!), Mango Chutney, Fish Curry, A version of Creamy Vegetable Curry. The day gave me the impetus to start experimenting and hopefully create a few dishes of my own (on the theme naturally). Thanks again & kind regards.
Kevin

Thanks Sarah. I enjoyed the day.....Will be trying out the pakora, bhaji starters and chutneys. Will also try the fish curry as I thought that was the nicest dish of the day and it makes a nice change to have fish, indian style. Very informative about the chilli's etc. as well...... John

Hi Sarah.....I am writing to say that Andrew thoroughly enjoyed the Indian Cookery lesson on Saturday, he was really pleased with everything that he made and he thought everything tasted great. He said it was the best present I ever bought him. Thanks again.
